A new $5 app for Windows Mobile, Blackberry, and Android kicks in when a car is moving at more than 5 miles per hour and prevents you from texting. iZup ("eyes up") was written by a mother who noticed her teenage son swerving across the road when attempting to answer his cell phone.

More info is available at getizup.com.

On another note, I wrote an app to answer your texts while you drive, when you're in class, at a movie, and many other places... You can check it out at www.mobliza.com.

Sorry iPhone Users, no love for you... darn phone doesn't support background apps... awwwww!

I think this is a great idea for the iphone.  That can really save peoples lives that are addicted to texting.  They should put it on all phones. haha

This is actually a really cool app! I know that I, as a driver, am sometimes tempted just to reply with a quick response if I'm driving and I get a text. I'm sure this would help a lot of drivers not focus on their cell phones and getting texts while driving!

Why not just turn off or ignore your cell phone when driving?
